The requirement to hold a valid reliability certificate depends on the activity performed. In general, it is required for persons who need unescorted access to a security restricted area.
Under the conditions laid down by law, certain persons are considered reliable by virtue of law, for example persons serving or employed by the Ministry of Defence or selected security forces, or holders of a valid document certifying security eligibility or a valid personnel security clearance certificate. These persons are not subject to a separate reliability verification.
