As part of the cooperation between aviation authorities in the area of SUP (Suspected Unapproved Parts), the CAA CZ was notified by the American aviation authority FAA that aircraft components for small Cessna, Piper and other aircraft are offered for sale on the eBay internet platform.
Given that the advertisements state that „The buyer must determine whether the part is airworthy and in compliance with applicable regulations“ and that „The seller declines any responsibility for the airworthiness of these parts„, the CAA Czech strongly warns against purchasing such parts.
Installation of parts for which an EASA Form1 certificate or its approved equivalent is not available (see Regulation (EU) 1321/2114, Part 21) may lead to the loss of airworthiness of the aircraft.
A person/organization that installed such parts on an aircraft may be fined CZK 100,000-5,000,000 in accordance with the provisions of Section 83, Paragraph 3, Subsection b, Point 1 of the Civil Aviation Act.
