Processing of applications for the assignment of an aircraft address to a sport flying device without a technical certificate

For the purposes of processing applications for the assignment of an aircraft address to a sport flying device (hereinafter referred to as an “SFD”) for which an SFD technical certificate has not been issued yet, the Authority hereby states that it will waive the requirements set out in § 8b(4)(b) of Decree No. 108/1997 Coll., implementing Act No. 49/1997 Coll., on Civil Aviation, as amended. Consequently, applicants will not be required to submit a valid SFD technical certificate. In the case of flight testing of prototypes or new SFDs without a valid SFD technical certificate, this requirement may be satisfied by submitting the SFD registration certificate.

The above requirement will be waived in view of the fact that the SFD registration certificate contains essentially the same information as the SFD technical certificate and therefore constitutes sufficient supporting documentation for the Authority’s decision on the assignment of an aircraft address to an SFD in cases where the technical certificate has not been issued yet.
