Does a document issued abroad need to be officially authenticated and translated?

Depending on the country of origin, authentication by means of an apostille or superlegalisation may be required. Authentication is not required where otherwise provided for by an international agreement or a directly applicable European Union regulation.

Documents that are not in Czech or Slovak must be accompanied by an official translation into Czech. Certain public documents issued in European Union Member States may be subject to exemptions under Regulation (EU) 2016/1191.
