The required duration depends on the licence category and on the applicant&#8217;s previous technical training or completion of a Part-147 approved basic training course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Practical Type Training<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Practical type training is the practical element of aircraft type training for a specific aircraft type. Its purpose is to develop practical maintenance skills on that type and to meet the standard of Appendix III to Part-66. Where practical type training is conducted by a Part-147 organisation, successful completion is evidenced by the applicable Certificate of Recognition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>On-the-Job Training (OJT)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On-the-Job Training (OJT) is training on a particular aircraft type in a real workplace. It is conducted at one or more maintenance organisations appropriately approved for maintenance of that aircraft type; one of those organisations controls the OJT. Under point 66.A.45(c), OJT is required for the endorsement of the first aircraft type rating within a given AML category or subcategory, except category C.
