{"id":47702,"date":"2025-05-07T10:09:00","date_gmt":"2025-05-07T08:09:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.caa.gov.cz\/?page_id=47702"},"modified":"2025-05-07T11:58:08","modified_gmt":"2025-05-07T09:58:08","slug":"long-term-operation-of-aircraft-with-a-special-category-of-airworthiness","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.caa.gov.cz\/en\/approval-process-for-the-operation-of-foreign-aircraft-with-a-special-category-of-airworthiness-within-the-airspace-of-the-czech-republic\/long-term-operation-of-aircraft-with-a-special-category-of-airworthiness\/","title":{"rendered":"Long-Term Operation of Aircraft with a Special Category of Airworthiness"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Permission for the operation of aircraft within the airspace of the Czech Republic (CR) <strong>is not required for aircraft with a Certificate of Airworthiness for Special Purposes or a Permit to Fly issued by the aviation authority of an EU Member State<\/strong>, in accordance with Annex I (Part 21) to Commission Regulation (EU) No. 748\/2012, as amended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Where the Permit to Fly has been issued for purposes specified under point 21.A.701(a), items 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, or 16, the associated approved Flight Conditions must cover and demonstrate compliance with all requirements applicable to the process of obtaining Consent to conduct test flight in the Czech Republic Airspace. In such cases, <strong>copies of both the Permit to Fly and the approved Flight Conditions must be submitted to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) no later than three (3) working days prior<\/strong> to the intended entry into Czech airspace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Permission is not required in the following cases:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the aircraft holds a valid ICAO Certificate of Airworthiness; or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the aircraft holds a valid EASA Permit to Fly (EASA Form 20A or 20B) accompanied by the appropriate approved Flight Conditions (EASA Form 18A or 18B); or <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the aircraft holds a valid EASA Certificate of Airworthiness for Special Purposes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Long-term operation<\/strong> refers to any operation of a foreign aircraft within the airspace of the Czech Republic other than a single overflight, including landings within the Czech territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Foreign aircraft registered in countries other than EU Member States and holding a Certificate of Airworthiness other than a standard Certificate of Airworthiness<\/strong> (e.g., Certificate of Airworthiness for Special Purposes, Permit to Fly, etc.) must obtain permission for entry into, and operation within, the airspace of the Czech Republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The application for the permission <strong>must be submitted by the operator<\/strong>. <br>The request may be made in free form, for example by email.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The application<\/strong> must be accompanied by copies of the following documents:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Certificate of Airworthiness or Permit to Fly, including any operational limitations;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Noise Certificate (if issued);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Certificate of Aircraft Registration;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proof of validity of the Certificate of Airworthiness (if not stated within the certificate itself);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proof of third-party liability insurance for damages caused by the operation of the aircraft;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Additional information, including:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Details of maintenance performed and release to service (e.g. aircraft logbook entries, Certificate of Release to Service, etc.);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Purpose of the flight and description of intended operations;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Duration for which the permission is requested;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Intended destination aerodrome and aerodrome to be used as the base for operations within Czech airspace;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Address to which the permission should be sent \u2014 electronic delivery is possible;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contact details of the operator&#8217;s representative.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>The application must be delivered <strong>no later than five (5) working days<\/strong> prior to the intended entry of the aircraft into the airspace of the Czech Republic, to the following address:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Email: <a href=\"mailto:ti@caa.gov.cz\">ti@caa.gov.cz<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Civil Aviation Authority<br>K leti\u0161ti 1149\/23<br>161 00 Prague 6 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Phone: +420 225 421 310, +420 225 421 735, +420 225 422 709<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The permission is granted for the minimum period necessary, but not exceeding one (1) year.
