{"id":16329,"date":"2019-07-18T00:32:26","date_gmt":"2019-07-17T22:32:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.caa.cz\/?page_id=16329"},"modified":"2024-06-17T14:55:08","modified_gmt":"2024-06-17T12:55:08","slug":"air-passenger-complaint-form","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.caa.gov.cz\/en\/passengers\/denied-boarding-delay-or-cancellation-of-flight\/air-passenger-complaint-form\/","title":{"rendered":"Air passenger complaint form"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>IMPORTANT INFORMATION<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Civil Aviation Authority Czech Republic (hereinafter \u201cthe CAA\u201d) is a body responsible for enforcement of Regulation (EC) No 261\/2004 as regards<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>flights from airports in the territory of the Czech Republic, or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>flights from third countries to airports in the territory of the Czech Republic, if the operating air carrier of\nthe flight concerned is an EU carrier<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> provided that one of the following incidents occurs:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>cancellation,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>delay,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>denied boarding against the passenger\u00b4s will,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>downgrading, or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>lack of care (meals and refreshments, hotel accommodation etc.).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><br>\nOn the contrary, the CAA does <strong>not<\/strong> oversee air carrier\u00b4s obligations as regards<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>luggage,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>flights from airports on the territory of another EU Member State,<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>flights from a third country to airports in the territory of the Czech Republic, if the operating air carrier of\nthe flight is not an EU carrier.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><br>For more details see<a href=\"https:\/\/www.caa.gov.cz\/cestujici\/cestujici-odepreni-obecne\"> <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.caa.gov.cz\/verejnost\/odepreni-nastupu-zpozdeni-nebo-zruseni-letu\/obecne-informace\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"here (otev\u0159e se na nov\u00e9 z\u00e1lo\u017ece)\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"> <br> <strong>COMPLAINT HANDLING PROCEDURE<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>1.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; A passenger first complains to the air carrier.<br> <br> 2.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; If the air carrier does not provide an answer within 2 months, or its answer is not satisfactory, only then the passenger submits <strong>the online complaint form available here<\/strong>: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kompenzace.caa.cz\/?lang=en\">https:\/\/kompenzace.caa.cz\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p> Attachments:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>power of attorney (mandatory, if the passenger is represented),\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.caa.gov.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/PAX_power_of_attorney.docx\" class=\"mtli_attachment mtli_docx\">a template of the power of attorney<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>reservation or boarding pass (voluntarily),<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>copy of ID (voluntarily; often asked by air carriers from third countries),<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>bank details (voluntarily; smooths the communication with air carriers when the entitlement to compensation is\nrecognised).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><br>\nContact details:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>email: <a href=\"mailto:kompenzace@caa.cz\">podatelna@caa.cz<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>data box: v8gaaz5,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>postal address: \u00da\u0159ad pro civiln\u00ed letectv\u00ed, K leti\u0161ti 1149\/23, 160 08 Praha 6,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>telephone number (Mo-Thu from 13h to 15h): 225 421 111.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><br> 3.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The CAA notifies passengers upon receipt of the complaint. <br> <br> 4.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The CAA requests a statement from the air carrier on the circumstances of the flights concerned within 6 weeks. The time limit can be, however, repeatedly extended depending on multiple factors (willingness of the air carrier to cooperate, request of additional documents etc.).<br> <br> 5.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The CAA receives and evaluates the statement.<br> <br> 6.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The CAA informs the passenger about the outcome of its investigation.
